How to be a Good Ally

Muneer Panjwani (pronouns: he/him/his) sits down to share advice on the concrete steps one can take to be a good ally, even if it means being slightly uncomfortable at times.

Allyship is a topic at the forefront of today's conversations around inclusion and diversity.  To be an ally is to stand up for and be supportive of another person or group often at risk of being excluded due to systemic inequity. Even with the best of intentions, being a good ally can be a challenging ideal and responsibility to not only understand but to act on.

As Head of Corporate Development of The Trevor Project, the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people, Muneer has been responsible for establishing and providing a tangible path towards impactful corporate allyship with over 150 multi-national companies like PwC, Google, AT&T, SoulCycle Inc., Abercrombie & Fitch Co., The Coca-Cola Company, Wells Fargo, United Airlines, Macy's, EY and Toyota Motor Corporation, among others, to advance Trevor's life-saving mission. His insights are specific and valuable for anyone.
